Arrival at the airport
From March 1, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers coming in Sri Lanka from other countries will no longer be required to undergo PCR or Rapid Antigen Tests.
Will I be subjected to a specific medical examination upon arrival?
The airport terminal has been outfitted with the necessary technology to measure body temperature.
The completed Health Declaration Form (HDF) should also be filed at the airport Health Counters upon arrival. The Declaration Form will be distributed prior to boarding, during the flight, or upon arrival.
Please note that all passengers and BIA staff should wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth.
Can I be picked up by a travel agent or tour guide from the airport when I arrive?
Yes, tourism authorities have granted permission to welcome guests at the airport arrival lounge.
Is it necessary to have a negative PCR report on departure?
It is compulsory to provide a negative PCR report taken before 72 hrs. prior to your departure.
The Airport has set up equipment for measuring body temperature before security controls in the departure terminal.
You have to go through the thermal scanning successfully as per the guidelines of the government. Any passenger or visitor with symptoms of COVID-19 infection will not be allowed to enter the airport terminal building.
Passengers must arrive at the airport at least three hours before their planned departure time.
